AREA ACTIVITIES

		STATE PARKS There are over 30 state parks with day use areas and campground facilities in Lincoln County. The park at D River in Lincoln City is the most-visited park in the state. NEWPORT PERFORMING & VISUAL ART CENTERS The Performing and Visual Art Centers are highly supported by the coastal arts community providing various classes and shows. The centers are host to local and national touring productions, exhibits and artists throughout the whole year.
		OREGON COAST AQUARIUM Ranked in the top ten aquariums in the country, the Oregon Coast Aquarium boasts ever-changing exhibits including the story of a raindrop's journey from a mountain stream to the Pacific Ocean. The array of animals include adorable sea otters and a huge jellyfish tank. An amazing walk-through underwater exhibit and the largest seabird aviary on the continent. A very popular destination. MARK O. HATFIELD MARINE SCIENCE CENTER The Marine Science Center is the home of international level marine research. There is an expanded public area that includes interactive exhibits.
		MARINE DISCOVERY TOURS Discover Oregon's sea life, fisheries, and marine history onboard this unique maritime tour. LIGHTHOUSES The Lighthouse Interpretive Center at Yaquina Head at the north end of Newport has guided tours. Additionally, the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse has an interpretive museum and gift shop located in the old lighthouse-keeper's home. Beautiful view overlooking the Pacific Ocean off Highway 101. STORM WATCHING Very romantic in the winter when the waves are at their highest. Rain, wind and the ocean surf blend together in a rhythm only found on the Oregon Coast. Depoe Bay is an excellent place to watch the show.
		ANTIQUING Numerous antique stores are located all along the Central Oregon Coast. Many treasures await those who care to search. SHOPPING The Factory Stores at Lincoln City are particularly popular. The bayfront stores in Depoe Bay and Newport offer a huge variety of shops, galleries, seafood and books.
